Text Box: Next season marks an impressive milestone for the Northwest Sinfonietta—15 years of critical acclaim, audience enthusiasm, and noteworthy growth. The Northwest Sinfonietta shares its anniversary with another ‘great’—the master composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, whose 250th birthday will be celebrated all around the world.
Music Director Chagnard has designed a Mozart-inspired program which will showcase the composer’s inestimable brilliance and the unquestionable talents of the Northwest
Sinfonietta.
We invite you to join us in a year-long celebration of the Text Box: Northwest Sinfonietta’s
15th anniversary. Festivities include:
Gift of Music. In September we will present a free public concert in downtown Tacoma. There will be a proclamation from the Mayor of the City of
Tacoma, and reception and commemoration ceremonies honoring the orchestra’s founders and early leaders. Special guests will include music faculty from the region’s schools and colleges.
Mozartiana. Our concert season includes great works from the pen of Mozart and from other composers inspired by Mozart, as well as a daring co-production Text Box: with the Tacoma Opera in
Mozart’s Abduction from the Seraglio.
Northwest Sinfonietta Milestones. Add a new CD to your collection—released in honor of 15 years of musical excellence.
Children’s Book. Own an autographed copy of the orchestra’s new children’s book about music. Our Education Program will use the book as an important addition to its work with schools.
Dionysia. Attend the very special “Grand Gala
Dionysia” in spring 2006.
